Nick Cannon isn’t a popular figure among Beyoncé’s die-hard fans after arguing that Bruno Mars has more hits than the Grammys record-holder.
The Wild ‘N Out host made the controversial statement during an episode of his Daily Cannon radio show on Amazon’s Amp, with the debate being sparked by Cannon praising Mars’ live performances.

“Have you ever seen Bruno perform live?” he asked his co-hosts. “Fire! ‘Cause he got his whole crew on stage with him and they be doing the little dances. It feels very Morris Day and the Time-ish.”
“I could probably afford those tickets,” Mason Moussette replied, before bringing up the sky-high prices for Beyoncé and Taylor Swift’s respective tours.

“See, no offence, but I would rather go to a Bruno Mars show than a Beyoncé or a Taylor Swift [show],” Cannon then declared, which was met with bemusement from his colleagues.
“You out your mind,” Courtney Bee Bledsoe remarked while rolling her eyes.
“Who got more hits?” Cannon asked, to which Bledsoe replied with zero hesitation: “N-gga, Beyoncé! What you talkin’ ’bout?”

She then reeled off some of Bey’s solo hits including “Single Ladies,” “Drunk In Love” and “Crazy In Love,” as well as Destiny’s Child classics like “Bills, Bills, Bills” and “Say My Name.”
Feeling the heat, Nick clarified that he’s “a Beyoncé fan,” but doubled down on his hot take by saying: “I still believe Bruno Mars actually has more hit records.”
When challenged to name them, however, Cannon seemingly struggled. “You’re putting me on the spot,” he said while trying to buy himself more time. “It’s Monday.”
It wasn’t just his Daily Cannon co-hosts who were quick to challenge Nick Cannon’s Bruno Mars vs. Beyoncé statement, though. Mrs. Carter’s notoriously loyal fanbase, the Beyhive, also mobilized on social media to come down on the Drumline actor.
“Nick cannon just said Bruno mars got more hits than Beyoncé like let’s be fucking serious right now,” one fan tweeted while sharing side-by-side images of Bey’s eight No. 1 hits and 21 top 10 singles on the Billboard Hot 100, compared to Mars’ eight No. 1s and 18 top 10s.
Nick Cannon Says Mariah Carey Doesn’t Want Him Sharing Their Kids On Social Media
“Alright we the people would like to release Nick Cannon from the culture. First all these kids and now you saying Bruno Mars has more hits than BEYONCÉ!! MAN WHAT?!” another baffled fan wrote, while someone else joked: “Nick Cannon says Bruno Mars has more hits than Beyoncé. I hope he is not teaching his kids maths.”
Cannon’s proclivity for procreation was also used as fodder in another tweet that read: “Because Nick Cannon saying Bruno Mars has more hits than Beyoncé proves to me that the only thing he has going for himself is a sperm that don’t miss.”

While his comments have riled up Beyoncé’s fans, Nick Cannon endeared himself to Nicki Minaj’s similarly fervent fanbase, the Barbz, last month when he crowned the Young Money queen the greatest rapper of all time, regardless of gender.
“First off all, let’s not disrespect Nicki. Nicki is the G.O.A.T. whatever he gender is,” he said during an interview with Bootleg Kev. “She is one of the coldest artists in the last decade. Like, we can’t sleep on her skill, her pen. [I mean] sonically, she changed the game.”

After catching wind of Cannon’s praise, Nicki responded in kind by quote tweeting a clip of the interview with a heart-shaped hand emoji.
